I'm an Australian by birth but currently live in London. I'm a traveller at heart and I love seeing how different the rest of the world is. I'm always up for something new and interesting.

I've been playing with computers pretty much my whole life, working with them since 2000 in tech support and programming and as a full-time Sysadmin since 2006. I've been fascinated by security since about 2003 and I tend to become the default "security guy" at most places I have worked.

I enjoy all forms of sport and outdoors activities but particularly cycling, hockey, sailboarding, snowboarding, camping and Frisbee. I'm also passionate about the environment, growing my own food, cooking it and eating it.

Before you do format anything, check that you are on the right server. What you describe so far sounds like you are changing the wrong one.

comment sed comand - remove virus from wordpress
Are you doing this as an exercise to improve your command line skills or because you want to clean up the compromise? Because rm -rf and downloading Wordpress again is easier and more reliable.

Not an answer to your question but you might want to look into upgrading. Security updates are a good thing.

comment Force dig to resolve without using cache
@KasperSouren Are you talking about the NS records at the authoritative servers or the glue records at the parent? You can find the parent with +trace but beware of caching. Andrew B wrote up a good explanation of how caching can trick you when waiting for nameservers to change.

Yep. That's where I suspect the problem is.

That looks like perl code but the error you are getting is an Apache error. Could you add the config at the front end as well as the code you now have?

comment ssl certificate - identity not verified with godaddy
Did you skip the step where you should give the csr file to GoDaddy and they give you back a signed SSL certificate? I don't see that listed in your question. You would have had to pay GoDaddy for this so it's not something you could do without knowing or the WHM control panel could have done for you.

I think I'm beginning to understand your setup. Could you include the front-end config as well? The one that listens on port 443 and does the actual proxying to the vhost you have provided already.

Are you able to make a curl request from your server to https://provider.hudsonhealthplan.org? I suspect you don't have a route that will enable you to make that request using that IP address. If I am right, you could solve it with an entry in your /etc/hosts file (amongst other ways of solving this problem).
