-1 See the answer by idleyoungman. From the documentation, a reload "causes it to kill off its children like in TERM, but the parent doesn't exit. It re-reads its configuration files, and re-opens any log files."

@KitRoed: Say a task hangs. Then when the next scheduled run comes around, the first action will kill the hanging task.

Thanks for your answer. It's surprising that such basic information is not logged! Our firewall does have good logging, I'll set it up to monitor connections to port 3389.
