comment Smartphone conflicting with LAN?
I think Dan is right here, you might want to plug a computer into tthis router/firewall device and run Net Mon on it for a while see what kind of information is being dished out by the iPhone, generally that is a pretty harmless thing to have on the network so I'd suggest its possibly some kind of app thats been installed on the actual iPhone which is doing something could be acting as a proxy or sending proxy information to the other workstations on the network if that is at all possible.

comment Win 7 laptop taking a long time to log on when off the domain
Thanks Bryan, this user is a consultant who has a domain profile> i just removed his login script and create a manual login script for him to run. Seems to boot in quicker, this is with the wi-fi adapter turned off to emulate being at home.. then again it might just be that because the wi-fi is off its quicker..

comment Amavis-new whitelist
Thanks for the suggestion. I have applied that line to my 50-user config file and restarted amavis but tried to send my mailbox anotehr 'virus' and exe in a zip file and get the BANNED bounce back message. Is there any way to check if my sending domain is being whitelisted? Thanks

comment SQL Server 2000 need to prevent logons whilst performing a backup for a side by side migration
Thanks for this information bitplayer - yes I have sussed out the post restore tasks but this was the main problem I faced and have tested the single user mode method which will work well for me. But this is very handy information to have in future.
