As I already stated in another answer, this is not an acceptable solution.

Well suppressing notifications is not what I want, as other services might require me to receive alerts. I just don't want the SMTP service to be checked in that timeframe.

Well you suggested doubling the -v option, but that did not show anything new.. however, by making me look at the output again after a few days helped to pinpoint the problem. If you want to write up the answer, I'm more than happy to give you the bounty.

That's not true. There is a service running at host:7000. I also tried with other services.
