hmm.... I don't think it needs to - I'm using agent forwarding. help.github.com/articles/deploying-with-capistrano Or would I still need it? Should the server id_rsa.pub be the same as my local machine?

yes, so this is on the serer; access is fine from local machine. It happened origianlly from capistrano deployment.

comment problems with nginx and serving ssl; possible certificate issue
Lol, maybe I'll try posting a related question in SO. I don't have much experience with configuring SSL and this was done a couple of months ago so just don't want to have things mucked up.

comment SSL certificates and whether a wildcard common name will support domain.com
thx, cool - that's what I figured regarding price. would a self-signed certificate (*.domain.com) be able to handle domain.com? Or do you just send everything to www.domain.com?

let me look into this more as another domain is doing the same thing :-( Fortunately, not in production yet.

comment is there something wrong with this apache vhost?
@shane - the whole config? it's a plain vanilla ubuntu apache2.conf and other ones are working ok. Looking at it more, I think it might be a networking issue. Obviously, domain.com is not the real domain. Just change it because I don't want to put compromising info out there. Definitely not a unix admin.

comment apache vhost config - why doesn't this work
yep, restarted, rebooted computer, everything... sorry, I know this is probably something REALLY stupid. I think it might be something with phusion passenger

comment apache vhost config - why doesn't this work
a DNS record has been created and it resolves correctly. It's currently showing the default apache site implying that there's something wrong with the apache configuration

comment Any difference between httpd and apache2
thx - I'm trying to keep local dev and prod in sync as much as possible as our SA has bailed out. Ideally, I'd like to know if I could just create a symlink and have a common set of scripts to check for.
