comment Is it possible to use subjectAltName with one word domains?
And finally, xca.sourceforge.net is a great piece of certificate and authority management software.

The solution to my problem is likely going to be creating a parallel local "throwaway" CA, that makes it easy to add new domains. My master CA is attached to a smart card, which may be too inconvenient to use for this purpose.

comment Passing Apache variable into SetHandler directive
Thanks for patch-2. I had already went through cherry-picking the relevant two patchsets on top of 2.4.18 on my own and I'm currently live with it. Seems to work beautifully with SetEnvIf Host ".*" CR_FPM_POOL=php70, SetEnvIf Host "legacy\.app" CR_FPM_POOL=php56, and SetHandler "proxy:fcgi://%{env:CR_FPM_POOL}". This should definitely get accepted into 2.4.19 \o/

comment Passing Apache variable into SetHandler directive
Thanks for getting this boat on the move. I need to get a single subdomain from a wildcard vhost set forwarded to a PHP5 pool, instead of the default PHP7 pool. @covener can people.apache.org/~covener/patches/2.4.x-sethandler-expr.diff be safely applied as is on the 2.4.x branch right now to gain this feature right away?

comment Postfix: on multi-recipient e-mails of same domain, how do you remove all but one (first) address?
@sebix There's multiple business reasons why a generic shared e-mail address would be sub-optimal and cause other types distress, so it would be just swapping one problem for another. But you may be on to something with this "rewrite to generic" idea, perhaps it's some sort of a de-duplication step that can be used. Have to think about an implementation method for it though.

@AndrzejA.Filip We have an IMAP subfolder DomainMail (fake name), everybody is subscribed to it (Thunderbird). All @domain.com e-mails are server-side sieve-filtered into this mailbox, no messages go to anyone's individual inbox. All outgoing message copies are also configured to go to DomainMail by configuring Thunderbird accordingly, but that's beside the point. Is this an understandable description?

comment How do I get a simple non-reload logging toggle switch for Apache?
@GregL yes, .htaccess is of course an option, but is there anything more performance-optimal? .htaccess has a lot of logic behind it. Wouldn't checking for a single, single-purpose, specific file name or a similar technique be a lot faster?

@sa289 I am aware about the graceful restart, which is why I said "reload" instead of "restart". But this still does a lot of things to apps running i.e. reloading their states as well. Does too much for my liking.
