This is server fault, not stackoverflow - so a valid question.

comment WSS audiences dont show all AD Groups
Full import in the User profiles and properties section. This seems to be the case, even if your Security groups are outside the scope of the import connection. It also seems necessary to do a full import to correctly get an up to date group membership. Not entirely sure what an incremental import does if it doesn't import changes...

comment Solution to easily share large files with non-tech-savvy users?
How many users do you anticipate using this? Unless the number is really very large, then the overhead shouldn't be that high - you create a folder, you create a group, you give the group appropriate access rights to the folder. Then for each user, you create an account, send them the login details, and assign that user to the group. Use the web browser as client - zero distribution challenge. It is a tried and tested model and can be automated to an extent. You think the overhead is high, but if you try and roll your own system, I am sure you will find you spend more time and energy.

comment IP assignment in small network
@Massimo - it isn't all that hard - you can do it via the console, or use SDM to set the bindings via a GUI, or even use the web front end. On a small network with the right switch/router it is quite viable in my opinion. We don't do it here, but there are times I wish we did...

I don't think you would want your DHCP server on a VM, for the reasons you state. Many higher end switches (and some lower) can do DHCP, and depending on your requirements, this might be enough, without having to dedicate a server to the task.

If you only want to receive messages sent internally, then you only need to set up an internal MX record so that your mail servers know where to deliver messages sent to the domain you select.

comment Why are my mails sent from Postfix recognized as Spam?
+1 as you mentioned how to check for SPF related headers. This has been the most frequent cause mail sent via my mailserver ending up in the spam folder.

Nice digging! Would it be necessary to do the same procedure for subdirectories of tftpboot?
