I work at a large international development charity in London, as International Operations Manager. I manage a team of Regional ICT Service Managers, based in developing world countries, who keep our users happy through fixing problems, setting up great connectivity and generally making sure users can do their day jobs.

I previously worked at the same place as International Network Systems Analyst. I looked after a bunch of ICT systems in offices in the developing world, as well as looking after systems in our HQ. I gained a lot of knowledge in that job, and the techy side competes with the people stuff in the new role, hence I still hang out here a lot.

I'm passionate about the use of ICT in developing countries, both in terms of dealing with the inherent problems for ICT in those places, and using ICT as a tool for development.

Does LookupAccountName accept UPN or sAMAccountName or fully qualified DOMAIN\sAMAccountName, or all of the above? It isn't clear from the documentation you link to.

Thanks for the answer, and the function to call - I can go to our development team with an easy answer to their questions!

I've encountered a few applications (both internally developed and things other people have done) that authenticates through LDAP using the cn field. This field now gets updated automatically in AD Admin Center (it's labelled Full Name) if you change the first or last name fields, meaning you can't assume that the cn field can be considered a username field. Have these developers been using the wrong field, or has Microsoft broken cn?

I checked and the user was already a member of this group - that hasn't enabled them to run this script.

comment Fetching all PHP files and store their size
It's not that people don't like links. Its answers that ONLY have links - so don't do much more than Google, and if the link goes dead all the value of the answer is gone. But you seem wilful in not understanding this, so welcome to your downvotes...
