I work at a large international development charity in London, as International Operations Manager. I manage a team of Regional ICT Service Managers, based in developing world countries, who keep our users happy through fixing problems, setting up great connectivity and generally making sure users can do their day jobs.

I previously worked at the same place as International Network Systems Analyst. I looked after a bunch of ICT systems in offices in the developing world, as well as looking after systems in our HQ. I gained a lot of knowledge in that job, and the techy side competes with the people stuff in the new role, hence I still hang out here a lot.

I'm passionate about the use of ICT in developing countries, both in terms of dealing with the inherent problems for ICT in those places, and using ICT as a tool for development.

comment How common is NAT within companies (one public ip address)?
Yes - do not assume unique IP addresses - not until IPv6 is ubiquitous, which isn't going to happen in the next 10 years...

comment Nagios frontend w/ API to change configuration?
I'm not sure Groundworks Community Edition ever really was "supported" -its status doesn't seem particularly different now (see groundworkopensource.com/2011/…). Other options exist, but if they are free, you will find the support is only as good as their open source developer base - again, this is no different from the way things were with Groundworks before. If you are really looking for something "supported" then you probably need to pay, in which case Groundwork still seems a valid option.

If you haven't used the API yourself, why did you say you prefer it because it has the API?

comment Understanding IP Address Blocks
Are your blocks contiguous? If so, you may be able to combine them under a single subnet, and use more addresses, if your ISP cooperates.
