Checking your blog as I type. Oftopic - I've heard Cisco 55xx series switches pose problems with failover and both try to take control causing nasty issues. e.g. heartbeat getting lost when high traffic hits.

Thanks for the Media_URL hint that helped. Here is how I solved it - settings.py - MEDIA_ROOT = '' MEDIA_URL = 'x.x.x.x:8000/static/'; In my html - <script type="text/javascript" src="{{MEDIA_URL}}js/jquery-1.3.2.min.js"></script> In my view - return render_to_response('templates/login-register.html', {}, context_instance=RequestContext(request)); nginx - listen x.x.x.x:8000; server_name x.x.x.x.; Restarted nginx. Restarted apache.
