comment Guidelines for Mail Servers - How to Maximize Deliverability to Remote Inboxes
Whether you think they are reasonable or not is not relevant -- the parent asked how to maximize delivery. If delivery is one's goal, then one should avoid HTML, because a lot of spam filters ding you for that.

comment What is the fastest filesystem to use under Linux on EC2 for MySQL?
ext2 is even better. The database already takes care of the consistency; no need to add the overhead of ext3 journaling.

comment How do I log CPU usage per process?
Make sure you have some sort of sleep in there, otherwise there is a good chance that your shell process will always be in the top 10. :)

comment Install mysql on EC2 Lenny AMI

comment How do I know if the autovacuumer in postgres 8.3 is actually working?
Thanks! That is the doc for postgres 8.4, but it appears to apply to 8.3 as well. The only reason I didn't accept your answer is because I didn't have to restart with Magnus's answer, but it they let me, I would have accepted your answer too. :)

If you're a hand-editing type, the file you want is /etc/dhcp3/dhclient.conf

comment macports vs fink
Just to second this, I too started on Fink, and then switched to MacPorts when Fink didn't have a package I needed. I've never looked back. Ports works just like in FreeBSD, which is comfortable for me, and uses paths that seem more "normal" to me.

comment What is QoS and When to [not] use it?
On your home business network, you give higher priority to BT than your actual work? Do you work in entertainment?

I was attempting to be tongue-in-cheek.

comment How to encrypt traffic between two Amazon EC2 instances?
This is correct. Their virtualization only allows you to communicate with your own instances.
