comment How to update IE on old WinXP system?
Windows XP should still update as of 2014, though there are no new security fixes. You should still be able to download IE from microsoft if it isn't automatically updating. As a longer term solution I suggest finding out, and getting the last version of windows offline update (V9.2.1), and an offline installer for IE that supported XP and keeping a repo of updates yourself for a rainy day, or just upgrading to a supported OS

comment Can I install an internet connection on a small town? What would I need? How much would it cost?
Outdoor APs might but cost and compatibility might be a factor. It might make more sense to let people come to the internet, rather than bring internet to the people.

As is, the question is too broad, and as above, we're lacking a lot of key information. Its probably also the product/service/learning material from heck, since you probably need a small library worth of learning recs and a lot of planning to even get started.

comment What are the the potential drawbacks of using non-OEM hard drives in a server?
I'd add though that practical realworld lifespans may be higher - Someone put through a 840 pro (the consumer version of this drive) through 2 PB of writes. Quality modern SSDs (and samsung is amongst the best here) do actually often outlast their rated life cycles.

Its quality, not tenure. I notice that you have 4 flags, of which half have been rejected, apparently no reviews, and not much activity in general. With... well, the lack of track record, it might help to lay out what you intend to do as a mod.

I notice that you have stood for almost every election, and generally not gotten past the nomination stage. What do you intend to do differently this time?

comment How to get all the Debian CD ISO files to Blu-ray
You generally only need CD1. You probably ought to test it. Also, running an old, unsupported version of an OS is a horrible idea.

comment “//” button on hp server case
When in doubt press it. At worst, you've just reset a mission critical server. That said, that's probably very obviously where a reset switch has been for every system I have used that didn't have a fancy gaming system.

comment How to assign different static IP addresses to the same machine depending on its OS on a network?
Static IPs would be the sensible thing. However, that would require a fair amount of manual setting up.

One does not simply rip out a core part of your distribution, upon which many things rely

comment How to recover data from a messed up drive (LVM written on top of Ext4)?
More specifically, I'd suggest imaging the drive, and working off a copy of that. It takes up space but it prevents further data loss.
