:/ I always thought of it as a network bridge (i.e. they shared the same IP), not an adapter bridge.

@c4f4t0r see comment on answer below re bridge.

I don't want to do this because I also run services from my host. If I do this I'll have to customise the ports which I don't really want to do. Surely it could just get an IP assigned from my routers DHCP service and be on the same IP range?

But what if I want my router to be the DHCP server, as currently the vm is in a different ip range and I can't connect to it.

comment Installing PostgreSQL on Centos 5
Once the warning comes up it doesn't look like it installs. When I tried to install it says no package postgresql94 available. It's an laptop I just have lying around. Didn't want to spend much time updating it.

comment postfix multiple recipients for the one address
Could you give a bit more info? All the examples I see just show a 1 to 1 mapping and I can't find any examples of multiple ones.

comment Samba performance slow even on the smallest file
Interesting, I'll take a look. I have a feeling it may be a Realtek. I had issues getting it connected through wireless so I just forgot about it, but I should be able to router it and get Samba only to listen on that adapter, I'll have to get back to you if it works though.
