comment Why is OOM killer hitting here
@Jay true, my point mainly being that often this is overlooked and it is assume the php.ini file limit is the one in use, oftern I have found a run away script because someone during testing has some something nearly exactly what you have posted, and forgotten about it prior to committing it to SCM; resulting in a batch process going awry and over allocating memory.

comment Nginx : thousands of server_name
@fred Can you give an example data set? unless no one domain is like the other at all I'd be fairly confident that a Regex pattern would resolve you issue.

comment Percona XtraDB Cluster node recovery
As per 4. in my answer to my question, I confirmed 1 -> 2 -> 3 -> 4 -> 1 works, until you stop all nodes simultaneously; which makes sense in this kind of failiure I can't say you'd want automated recovery, without manual verification. w.r.t the quorum mechanics on PXC, could you please a link some documentation to that effect? also I take it Baron / Ewen pointed you to this? :)

comment Ubuntu server has slow performance
@Rich if you can try to get an output from iotop particularly of interest being the IO usage of jbd2/sda3-8 (extfs journaling proces) and as @thinice pointed out the contents of /proc/interupts would also be useful.

comment RHEL5 do not see sas tape library
1) You need to provide the output from dmesg, specifically check if the tape drive was detected at all. 2) with this being RHEL5 you may well need to install the Firmware for the tape drive into check the vendor website for linux specific firmware/drivers and install accordingly.

comment How to get Network Data Received and Data Sent Information on Mac OS X?
your question is a little ambiguous, are you wanting the actual packet data or a summary of the number of bytes sent/received?
