comment dump tcp connections without tcpdump
@MatthewIfe, And how one defines "installed". This argument can be used against such oversimplified policy.

Isn't this script a new software (so is not to be installed in the system)?

comment Why mdadm's RAID-1 is resyncing from scratch despite of the bitmap?
You probably using only 2 disks. I was using 3 devices, of which one was always online and two others were only available periodically. For this use case you need to have two bitmaps (track sectors pending to be written to the second device and the third). With only one bitmap you can't efficiently re-add a device to always-degraded RAID. Multiple bitmaps is a feature that is unlikely to be implemented - it is optimisation for use case when RAID stays degraded for prolonged time.

comment How to edit TCP window size from iptables?
I'm playing with traffic shaping currently and looking for various ways to limit inbound TCP traffic. I think capping the receive window + adding some delay (tc qdisc ... netem delay ...) can more or less cleanly set the speed of receiving without crude things like intentionally dropping valid packets.

comment What is the IPv6 equivalent to IPv4 RFC1918 addresses?
At least one project relies on fc00::/8: Cjdns

64 bytes from 2600::: icmp_seq=1 ttl=52 time=207 ms - works

comment Best practice for picking convenient IPv6 addresses for a few hosts on an isolated LAN
Note: FC00::/8 is used by Cjdns, maybe by other such networks. See other answer for better alternative to prevent address clashes if there will be need to merge networks somehow.

Works, but I would prefer them to be like 2001::8888 or even 2001::2001
