comment HTTP downloads stop after some time, resuming is not possible
I also very often get broken files while downloading through Squid with aria2c splitting to large (over 50) number of parts (specially patched aria2 for this). I've got used to always doing rsync after such downloading to "fix the breakage" after downloading). And sometimes Squid just can't parse that complex request (with many ranges, some open-ended).

comment How to remove a non-empty directory which is not owned by the user in Linux?
Yes, I've tested. But of course I can neither chown nor chmod nor setfacl the directories owned by root. (And -d option edits the default ACL list that can't affect already existing files). setfalc -d may helps only for further directories created by root, not for already existing.

setgid on the parent directory doesn't help. After done as root cd ~user && mkdir qqq && touch qqq/qqq I can't get rid of qqq from user by chmod g+s . and rm -Rf qqq.

I often use multiple accounts on my desktop (one of which is "main non-root" account). I can also get such situation when make install started from root starts building something.

comment Is it possible to make a web browser proxy tunnel with Netcat/Socat?
I've implemented a patch to allow socat understand SO_ORIGINAL_DST (set by iptables in REDIRECT target), so you may specify "REDIRECT" instead of destination address or port in proxies. I use patched socat myself, but it is quick and dirty and probably not for serious production. May be in the next version this feature will be available out-of-the-box. socat 'tcp-l:1234,reuseaddr,fork' 'socks5:REDIRECT:REDIRECT|tcp:127.0.0.1:1080' It also works with HTTP CONNECT proxy. link;

comment Redirect local service to custom proxy
1. There is no INPUT in "-t nat" you should use PREROUTING if you really want redirection of input things. 2. There is no "-m owner" for any of incoming packets, that is in INPUT or PREROUTING. 3. "My program connects to a fixed port" redirect just this program with "-m owner" in OUTPUT. BTW there is nothing about "the incoming traffic" in question. "-t nat" things work once when a connection is establishing. Connection tracking handles the rest keeping for already established connections.
