comment Internet cafe software for linux
Don't use LiveCDs. Use LiveUSB. The CD drives wear out quicker than you think. Set up a single station as you think it should be, and then remaster from that. A year or so ago there was ubuntugeek.com/… -- there maybe other tools as well. For starters, make login-without-password possible from the console, have some startup scripts in a home directory that start a browser. and have tabs in the browser that point to the big sites like google, gmail, facebook, twitter, etc.

comment Linux freezes every few seconds
Could it be the network/ing that freezes up? I noticed the basic EC2 instances had intermittently sluggish interactivity when I tried the Beta back in 2005. What I was seeing affected both ssh sessions and basic dynamic web pages, like perl CGI.

comment Running game server and webserver on EC2
EC2 will add up at $0.10/hour == $72/mo. Consider Linode, or perhaps a cheap dedicated server.

comment How can I disconnect ssh users, or limit the number of ssh logins?
Random medical information is misdirected all the time, and used to show up on my fax machine much like spam. The number was a swap of digits from a major insurer's fax line. From time to time I toyed with the idea of postal mailing these faxes back to the patients along with a nice note. It was futile to try to block the faxers or talk to the sender or do anything but just shred um.

Just having two choices does not make a dilemma. Wikipedia, for instance, says that both choices should be unacceptable. In common usage, you usually need a potential tragedy or some element of drama. Godaddy might be that bad :) or it might not.
