comment Pause MDT task sequence to install drivers?
Have you tried adding the suspend task (not just running the suspend script)? However if your modifying the task sequence, just add the drivers?

comment Is it best practices to have separate login for a domain for domain admins?
Least privilege applies mostly to non admin accounts. Credential separation doesn't help from a least priv perspective if the cred is used on a dirty system compromised by the lower privleged cred.

comment How to recover from switch failure?
Having a switch that failed over to another switch of be a neat trick, you'd have to beam the cable over to the new switch.

comment Windows RODC/DMZ connection to trusted AD issue
So it sounds like you are getting the referral to the sitebehind, failing then getting the full DClist. is the computer in the PWRP?

comment Windows RODC/DMZ connection to trusted AD issue
"we have a duplicate of the 2012 server working right along side it." what did this mean then? If you do a network trace are you seeing the referral to a RWDC? is the computer added to the pwrp?

comment Windows RODC/DMZ connection to trusted AD issue
Mostly out of curiosity, is that app supported with RODCs (I have yet to did one). If another 2012 I the same subnet works, check the firewall rules and see if it has access to the sitebehind.

comment Windows Embedded thin client vs fat Windows client updates
@DBR the workload to maintain 1 app instance vs 1000 is only marginally higher and generally offset (if not demonstrably higher) with the hardware and software costs of VDI as well as the complexity of VDI. It seems like you are trying to get someone to agree with your proposition that somehow vdi is going to save you something. Perhaps the question is too broad.
