I do IT support for an animal shelter (the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, in Upstate New York). I'm a vegan, because I think that our compassion should be extended to all sentient creatures, not just dogs and cats. I helped rescue stranded pets in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. You can see photos of my experience at www.katrina-animal-rescue.com.

@Nick, we're not going to upgrade in the immediate future -- I'm trying to figure out what to do if an existing computer fails and/or what to do a year or two down the road. Are there specific brands of web kiosks that you think might be appropriate? Thanks.

@GregD -- thanks for the tips. I did try to take away admin rights, but that caused problems with some of the installed software not running afterwards (Business Objects and Kodak EasyShare, for example). What do you recommend for locking-down IE? I actually use ESET NOD32 on my home PC. Haven't had any trouble. I'll have to see how much it costs.

Thanks so much for the tips. Users are, indeed, running as Administrator. I need to change that. "Software Restriction Policies" looks promising.
