I switched the SATA ports on the two harddiscs, but it still complains about the first one. Is there a way to force the raid controller to re-evaluate what it thinks the discs status is?

comment MySQL loses connection to local MySQL server
It's running on my work Desktop, but then again it's "just" a 10GB Database. The MySQL daemon works and the kernel log does not contain any information about the query. I don't think it has anything to do with networking as the mysql client connects to the daemon via a named pipe.
