comment Can't activate Windows Server 2012 r2
Actualy no, this is a pure "change SKU or reinstall" technical question, nothing legal involved here.

comment Reverse DNS does not match SMTP Banner
I Have a solution. The solution is simple - fix the reverse mapping.

comment Reverse DNS does not match SMTP Banner
Then why the heck do you even mention the relay issues? Trying to confuse people?

comment Reverse DNS does not match SMTP Banner
Banner match and "no relay allowed" are totally different issues. Both are critical but still two issues.

comment Can increase in hdd size slow sown a linux server?
Yeah. ESPECIALLY C++ is terrible because you not only have tons of files, you also generate tons of interim files in C++, which the linker then combines. Generally you pretty much MUST use an SSD - any alternative is a lot more expensive (15k rpm SAS discs in a Raid 10) and will not keep up performance wise. C++ is known to be a disc burner during larger codebase compilations.

comment What is the minimum and maximum cost for having a Windows server of own and what are the licensed software required?
Server? Like singulat? For one million TCP connections? Maybe waking up from the dream world is appropriate - you are seriously challenging limits here. I would assume noon does that from a server. That is cluster park, for admins that know enough to know the question makes no sense like it is now.

comment Hosting backbone proximity
Well, would you not say that depends on what the company is DOING with thise servers? I Know use cases that cound microseconds of data travel. I know use cases that do not care about 50ms.

comment Windows TCP Window Scaling Hitting plateau too early
A rare instance of a well researched problem that is not obviously in the documentation. Nice - let's hope someone finds a solution (because somehow I think I can use that too).

comment Page file size windows 2008 R2
What freaking best practices do you quote that go for 1.5 times ram? Yes, I remember that being a best practice. That was when mobile phones weighted 10kg. Start updating your basic knowledge. NOONE puts up a 196gb page file.

It is not a duplicate because it asks about something specific.

Professional version: Get real and do not run exchange on a domain controller. Seriously.

comment Getting an intermediate SSL certificate
Actually no - they run their own root and intermediate. Replacing the root is complex - so what is normally done is using a root certificate ONLY to sign an intermediate CA certificate then take the root ca offline. ;)

comment Modifying columns of very large mysql tables with little or no downtime
No, but one can argue that if that happens REGULARLY - not as part of a major software upgrade - then someone needs to be fired for not realizing that all the tables should be there in the first place. The problem / trick here is the "regularly", not "Once every couple of months".

comment IPTables Block Many IPs Using Domain
Absolutely no need to use IpTables for a relay check - postfix can do that as easy and as well. Well said.

comment Exchange server not writing a “To: ” header for BCC'd messages
More exact: Bcc stands for BLIND carbon copy. If you want the recipient to know - it should be CC - not BCC.

comment What happens to active connections to my SQL Server DB if I back up the transaction log with the NORECOVERY option?
Then logically it is a rollback for all transactions. Connections SHOULD stay active as a connection is to the server (and the application can switch to another database via USE statement).

Where does it say the db is unavailable during a backup? Even WITH NORECOVERY I would expect the db to stay available.
