Lots of text - is the new DC a global catalog? If not - there is your issue.

comment high memory usage 100% rss feed attack
No. You problem is you do not cache the output. And / or use a CDN to TOTALLY ELIMINATE THOSE HITS. Run your website through Cloudflare. Put a 5 minute cache instruction on it - finished.

comment How to make a domain receiving email behind cloudflare?
@hkguile Please do yourself a favour and find out what grey and orange clouds mean. mail is supposed to be grey because this means cloudflare does NOT CACHE THE CONTENT - it is not acting as a SMTP buffer. It does so for all websites (which is what a CDN does).

comment Web Attack: Mass Injection Website 19
Crappy coding. Which is as far as we go on ServerFault (which is about system administration and not about fixing bad programming). Now, it seems as a result of a very buggy website - which got hacked - you are serving bad and malicious code to any visitor.

comment Windows 10 client GPO to favor DHCP server over another one
The IP range is only one part of what DHCP serves. I would say the DHCP parameters are not correct. It is for example likely that neither default route or domain name are sent. Of the DNS servers are bad. In which case the clients will not find the domain. A step by step comparison of the DHCP configuration is needed. Technically - there is no need for DHCP on Cisco, btw . -Server 2012 if you hhave multipe can do replication between servers.

comment Windows 10 client GPO to favor DHCP server over another one
Well, bad news: software generally is not designed with ridiculous company decisions in mind. There is no GPO because it makes no sense. Fix your network. Reconfigure the broken DHCP. Fixed.

comment Windows 10 client GPO to favor DHCP server over another one
You do not have an issue with GPO as much as someone was simlpy making serious beginner mistakes setting up both DHCP. A proper configuration would not have any connectivity issues if the Cisco takes the lead. In fact, if it is a backup and causes connectivity issues - it is not much of a backup to start with. Fix that.

comment Windows Server 2008 R2, slow ntfs operation
Not what icewarp says. Unless linux is 100 times as efficient with disc IO - which it is not. 10 SECONDS for a directory lock is abysmal. Can you check the latency on the host?

comment Why does my machine not boot?
IF you have to replace the PSU, get a new computer. I had that quite some times in my career and every time after that the machine started to fail component by component over some weeks. 4-5 years is old enough that a replacement is warranted anyway.

comment Show advertising page on ISP users
1: Hire a consultant. 2: Hire a lawyer. For 1: That is way beyond the scope of a Q&A site. For 2: sensible users will take a lawyer and sue you. This is not a trivial setup - particularly in times of AJAX where a page request may not be a page request and you may break a ton of applications. Even if you are legally not criminal - the press outcry will hurt your business. And rightly so.

Oh my. so you really have a bad setup. Get THAT fixed.

comment Large RSS feed requests to non-existent URL causing 404 (and high load)
Is there a reason you do not cache the 404 output? Cloudflare would then answer all except the off question here and there. And the rss.xml should actually redirect to the new location ;)

comment SMTP server ready but 'Could not connect' error appears
Please the log on the other side. As in: What does the SMTP server say?How was this log generated? From the client app? It seems (unless I read it wrong) that it does connect (220 answer from the server) - so the server must have a reason to drop the connection.

If the raid controller fails - how can you SEE the drives? Or is this one of those "fake" controllers that are glorified drivers?

comment How to completely migrate Windows Server VMs with no access to hypervisor?
@MichaelHampton You must be joking? Automation costs time. Unless you do manage serverS - with capital S for a significant plural - it is wasted time.

comment How to completely migrate Windows Server VMs with no access to hypervisor?
Step 1: Talk to their customer support. Step 2: decide. THEY have access and THEY can make an export/backup/whatever. Alternative: read up on how to make a backup. Windows has tools for that ;) Then you can try to restore into a separate VM on another host.

comment Implications of increasing physical ram of VM
The implications of increasing RAM is having more RAM. Not meant snippy, but you have to say what it means (you never talk of what t he server does run), so we can only state the obvious. Whether SWAP needs to change depends a lot on whether it is used or possibly used.

comment Linux: productive sysadmins without root (securing intellectual property)?
Actually SysAdmins may not have access to all the files- C2 and better secured systems can block admins. They can FORCE access, but this is irrevocable (setting them as user) and leaves traces (log, which they can delete but not change easily).

comment Linux: productive sysadmins without root (securing intellectual property)?
The real problem with auditing is that there is a LOT of noise. After some months noone will look at the logs except when something happened.

comment iLO and server through same external IP
Do you accept" get a provider that supports multiple IP addresses" or "put the server behind a small low cost router that does all the VPN stuff" (you can get a nice mikrotik for around 60 USD max that is suitable). Otherwise this question is better served on Superuser.com as you hardly follow business practices.
