comment Forward a specific Domain on Port 80 to another Server within the Intranet
@DataWizard it's certainly possible but you likely will have to make some small tweaks somewhere for it to look at the header instead. I'm not really an IIS expert and without knowing your application, I can't point you to what exactly you'ld need to change.

comment Forward a specific Domain on Port 80 to another Server within the Intranet
@DataWizard fundamentally what you're asking can't happen at a lower level. The device doing the routing has to look inside the HTTP request in order to know what the hostname is. You'll need to do some research on Reverse Proxies but you can pass all of the information you want through the proxy. The hard one will be IP. You can pass it in a header or something, but the request will still come from your proxy server.

comment RewriteRule not working for apache https request
You need a certificate for lvdraspnetserv01. In this case the certificate validation happens before the redirect.

comment Apache rewrite rule and keep the url unchanged?
@Alaa If you remove that rule completely do you still get the redirect? If so you probably have another rule or directive that is being applied first.

comment Understanding FTP/FTPS for local users
huh? The plugin has nothing to do with local FTP? About halfway down in the FAQ's there's a question "When will be asked for my FTP credentials and why?" that pretty much answers why they need FTP. A remote party (ie. not you) is going to access the files on the site to set the correct permissions. If you set the permission correctly through some other method they shouldn't ask for access to the FTP.
