I have just done this on the disk in question and it has stopped a lot of the problems but there are still files which it will not let me take ownership off.

I have used this before and if you start off with a FAT32 drive it works well but there are times where an NTFS volume is needed.

comment How much swap do you allocate for your Solaris server?
Thanks. I remember being on a Solaris Sys Admin course and being told that it was not required any more. Would I set-up a system without space? No. I would use 2xRAM as I am an old time from SunOS 3 days ;)

In fact I just have tried it again - with an old installation and I am still waiting. I will probably give up and used the MKS rm.

This is a reasonable solution when you manage the system.
