comment Create a share with System Rescue CD
You are awesome. That was the answer, but System Rescue CD didn't come with smbpasswd installed so I used pdbedit -a -u root to get the smb user in there. Thanks!

comment is there a good tool for viewing the permissions in AD?
I was thinking AD Security Group permissions assigned to a file share but both would be nice :)

comment Wireless lapel computer mic
Don't apologize, that's a great idea! I'll probably use the ULXS4 receiver and ULX1 mic that I already have. The only thing holding me back was worry about sound quality

comment How do I configure my VPNs on my new firewall without taking out the old one?
Called my colocation facility and it looks like I have a /28 block already allocated to me. Assigned another public IP to the ASA's interface and it works like a charm. Thank you for the answer :)

comment Moving roaming profiles to DFS
so the Replicating User Profiles Between Sites (With or Without DFS) – Why it Should be Avoided article is telling me that not only is DFS-R a bad solution to my problem, but that there is no solution to my problem?

ahhhhh, that makes much more sense....and she doesn't have to be a user (in /etc/passwd) on the linux file server?

comment Alias for AD account?
I don't get it... so multiple people use this share, they're all in the group called 'fiscal' it's set up with valid users = @fiscal and force user = nobody if I set this up with valid users = jdoe, wouldn't it break everyone else's access to the share?

comment View people in a dynamic distribution group
for a standard distribution group, this is the case. I'm looking for the members of a dynamic distribution group that doesn't actually get created until the email hits the Exchange server. There is no option to expand the members of a dynamic distribution group

comment Stopping CSC with a GPO
That makes a bunch of sense and I'll use that when I get put in my Windows-based file server structure, but I forgot to mention that my file servers are Linux-based

comment DNS lookup working but nothing pinging
I've done what B. Riley said above and put those three domains in to the TCP/IP properties. When I do that, I see the DNS queries go out for server.domainA, server.domainB and server.domainC and it answers the third one with an A record. I still can't ping anything that is outside of my parent domain without using the FQDN
