really wouldn't do this unless you already have an extensive san infrastructure, if you do then you probably already have 8g fiber and you may not have 10ge yet which would obviously change things.

hp's have whats called an ilo, intergrate lights out. its a licensed product not sure what it costs. They used to have a temporary fix that you could use in an emergency but I don't know if that still exists.
