comment hp proliant not recognizing emc sas drives
As far as I am concerned this question is also interesting to me, as solutions are sometimes not supported and sometimes you need to do workarounds. Although there seems to be no solution, the above answerers helped to understand this topic better.

comment Hyper-V 2012 EAL 4 certified
I tried to interpret the pdf, but it is quite dense. Where can I see for which level Window 2012 had been certified?

comment Deleting inserted content in multiple files on linux server
then how do you know whats legitimate and what not? Could your clients add the correct files into git? Advantage for them would be that they also could role back if something bad happens.

I think then you need to deactivate the keep_hostname option. As far as I understood it, it overrides all the other names options.

The keep_hostname(yes) keeps the name in the packages you receive from the cisco switch. Could it be that the cisco Switch just sends the IP in the package? I guess because of the keep_hostname option the lookup of the dns name is omitted and syslog-ng just thinks it already has the hostname, although it is just the IP.

could you please post your nsswitch.conf? or are you using two dns servers and in one the reverse lookup of the ip isn't enabled or the IP isn't configured correctly there?
