Do you have to use Zeroshell?

comment zeroshell with multiwan on virtualbox
All other things aside, why run Zeroshell in a VM? Virtualbox isn't really meant from production use. I get you have three web connections but I'd reccomend some form of load balancer rather than a kludgey thing like this.

If you know what server make/model number you are running on, yes. From just 2012 itself, no.

Why was the server bought? Use the server to...well...serve, and if you really want to use something as a gateway run Monowall or a dedicated box as a gateway server.

Why do you have a WiFi adapter in your server? I would be tempted to replace the router with a higher-capacity one that also has wireless.

comment How can I monitor disk usage / growth on Windows Server 2008
Your best bet is probably File Server Resource Manager. Set it up to report on disk space and users, and then get it to e-mail you a report weekly/monthly.

Please do not create plain links to sites as if the site goes down the information is lost. Please summarise the content (if possible) in your answer.

The question is, why did you add the DC role to an Exchange server? Is this question really "how do I uninstall a DC"

woah woah woah what? You've promoted the new server to a domain controller before installing exchange on it?

Also, you're more than welcome to join us in ServerFault chat where more open-ended discussion such as this is welcome. About the DCs thing...my workplace has recently moved to 100% virtual servers, DCs, File servers, Exchange, everything, on virtual machines. It's not caused us any issues (so far, anyway).

Yes, I know you can. Domain controllers are normally expected to be just domain controllers.

You could download and install a trial version of Server 2008 R2/2012 and see if you have the same issue. Trials run for 120 days and can be "re-armed" up to 3 times as far as I can remember.

Are you using Windows 7 as a server? That's going to cause issues (if it hasn't already) due to the file sharing limit in Desktop versions of Windows.

comment Recommend between workstation and tower server in my case
There's no technical reason why you can't host website (or websites) on your machine. However, if you reboot your machine, that'll take your website down. If your machine dies, that'll take your website down. If you have a power cut, that'll take your website down. You could buy a large HP server and put a fairly helfy graphics card in it, but server are LOUD and no way in hell would I want to use one as a desktop.

Don't. Just get a dedicated or VPS server for running the site, and then use a workstation for...well, work.
