comment Add a second domain to Active Directory on Windows Server 2008
@ekaj, um, what? You've asked one question, two months ago, with 27 views, which might not even be on topic for the site. If SF was dead I'd understand where you are coming from but as one of the trilogy sites it's far from it.

comment Rackspace - typical power for a server
@DD. I know - however some colocation centers say give a measure in Amps rather than Watts.

Do you really mean 0.5kw, or 0.5Amps?

Of course, you could set it up so the capacity of both disks are useable and appear as one disk, although this is called RAID0 and highly, highly recommended against.

comment Run chkdsk on a headless Windows 2008 R2 Server?
Could you use PSExec to run CHKDSK? Granted, you'd have to do this when the system is in a "responseive" state but it could be worth a go.

comment Air Quality of a Small Server Room
You're sat next to the server rack? That cannot be a healthy working enviroment - the noise and temperature is probably not comfortable and the air con is also probably recycling the air instead of drawing fresh air in. I'd talk to your companies Health and Safety personnell.

comment Question about server usage, big community platform
Hi, Json. This could be classed as a "shopping" question which is off-topic for the StackExchange network. All we can say, really is it depends, you'll need to do benchmarks and tweak where nessecary to work out the load capabilites.

@cjc, what happens if the weighted companion cube gets...accidentially...incinerated? I hope you have backups.

@Angelo, the VirtualBox Manual is a very good place to start.

comment How to prevent MAC spoofing
Hi, Jerry. I would go back through your questions and accept an answer to get your rate up, otherwise having a 0% accept rate will not endear the community to answer your question. See this FaQ entry to see how accepting an answer works.

comment Which hardware to VM ratio for Build-Server virtualization?
While SSDs are nice to have, it's all down to a matter of cost/benefit.

thanks. ServerFault tends to take a dim view of self-promotion, regardless of how minor - that's just the way we are.

Hi, Zeda. Could you read the section of our FaQ on promotion to make sure this doesn't get flagged as spam.

@Safado - I don't know if it is - I was asking for clarification as the OP does not make it obvious.

Hang on, so your Server 2008 machine is in work and you are trying to connect to it from home? And the webserver/database server is directly connected to the internet?

@user1034912 - yes, it's staggering. But this is Google, so why the hell not? There are thousands of datacenters worldwide, Google happens to operate a tiny fraction of them.

comment Software RAID setup questions
@Sirex, Server 2008 only supports software RAID 0, 1 or 5, not 10. I'd rather chance my data with RAID 5 (as it's backed up elsewhere) than running an unfamilliar OS that does have RAID 6/10 support.
