@Harikrishnan If there's a way without splitting the server sections, I'd prefer that. But if there isn't, I won't get around the splitting...

Nope, if is not allowed in the http section: nginx: [emerg] "if" directive is not allowed here in /etc/nginx/nginx.conf:50; nginx: configuration file /etc/nginx/nginx.conf test failed

comment bind9 in a chroot jail - necessary or not?
Thanks for your comment. Your answer is true, but @chris-s is also correct that a serious attacker that could break bind would also be able to gain root privileges. So I'd conclude that the jail is not worth it, as it provides no real security.
