Exactly that - I've been installing with msiexec /i file.msi /quiet and it works fine

It's in the user section. The user does not have permission to install, but this msi is set to only modify HKCU so shouldn't need elevation. (If I run the MSI manually it doesn't prompt for elevation.)

comment How can I get the number of users actively using Lync?
Yes I do. It's O365 (online) with one on-premise server.

comment Some laptops USB not working on docking station
Booting with Legacy BIOS still has the same issue, as does disabling UEFI support

Looking at that now. One other thing worth mentioning is that I took an image of this disk, and put it on a "known good" disk, and the issue came with it.

comment Login script not running as the NIC takes too long to initialise
Think it must be a driver issue on the NIC. If I log on via wifi the login script works. I also tried connecting via a USB-Ethernet dongle - also works fine. Evidently something specific to this NIC.

comment Capture SMTP traffic over long time period
Trying to do that, but struggling getting the capture filter to capture just smtp. Can do a display filter, but I assume that doesn't prevent the other packets being logged.

comment Capture SMTP traffic over long time period
I might be being thick here. . . I've set a capture filter (having removed all the others to 'smtp' (without quotes). However my capture still shows loads of traffic flowing. If I set the display fliter to smtp, I see just SMTP traffic. How do I ensure I only capture smtp so my capture file doesn't grow enormous?

Nope - luckily that resolves to his name properly, too!

comment Outlook 2010 not resolving SMTP address to Display Name
No, it's for incoming mail. He is the recipient, and it shows in the To field. (I have tried simulating a "bad" autocomplete entry but it resolves as it should on delivery

comment Script to recreate Outlook 2010 mail profile
Actually this worked with Exch 2003. Was getting error 0x80070057, but applying a hotfix (kb2281463) sorted this, and autoconfigure worked

comment Script to recreate Outlook 2010 mail profile
Cool - this could work. Found the following to assist me in removing the existing profile: social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/outlook/thread/… - once removed I guess it should autocreate again

Sites are set up already - but it's still picking up seeming random servers.

comment Port 1499 traffic to my Exchange 2003 server - what is it?
No - not as far as I know. The only thing that flagged it was seeing the fw traffic.

comment Port 1499 traffic to my Exchange 2003 server - what is it?
Can't see a pattern in the IPs - seems to be a few random clients. Think I may go for the "scream test" - drop the traffic and see who shouts!

This needs a reboot to become "visible", right? Is there a way for it to become available instantly?

comment How can I get the print drivers for all printers installed on a print server?
I am trying to script intalling multiple printers at once, for use in a login script. I need to "prestage" the drivers, so the user doesn't get a UAC prompt when the driver is installed. Think I can do this with pnputil.exe, but I need the inf file details for the printers I have on the network.

comment How can I get the printer shares on a print server using Powershell?
Trouble is, I want to run this in a login script, so don't want user to have to enter password. The bit I don't get is why I get access denied, even though I can see all the shares in Explorer...?
