I like helping out with open source projects where I can. Most of my contributions are to Ubuntu, I've also contributed to the Fedora Project some.

I'm on github: http://www.github.com/tbielawa

Now-a-days I work for Red Hat being sysadmin'ly.

comment Can't change owner of file when I am the owner
It's worth asking this too: what are you trying to effectively accomplish by giving the file to someone? There may be other options to do what you're trying to accomplish.

@andol, I'm surprised I forgot to mention that. Nice addition! I guess I was thinking about the concept of agent forwarding in general.

I think they're discussing something similar to this in this question too: serverfault.com/questions/197785/list-all-empty-folders

You could try and add come useful content to your comment. They did just have a blog post talking about RTFM style answers blog.serverfault.com/post/1306724710/rtfm Maybe you could mention that the > and >> operators are used for IO redirection tldp.org/LDP/abs/html/io-redirection.html Likewise < is used to read a file into stdin.

comment Cannot install git-core using macports
It's not MacPorts, but there is a Google Projects page providing installable packages. I use it on my box instead of compiling from source. code.google.com/p/git-osx-installer Looks like it's the same version as in MacPorts.
