comment Why can't I create a RAID 1 on my 3ware 9650SE-4LPML?
The drives don't show up in the BIOS because they are attached to the 3Ware controller. I'm ignoring the controller and doing software raid instead. I hope.

Also, when I select two drives and mirror them, it's saying the array will be just over 1TB, instead of close to 2TB. I must be just missing something so obvious here...

When I try to build a RAID10, it's 1.99 TB, not 4TB.

First, thanks for the quick and informative reply. I've got software assurance for my 2003 license and CALs, so I have the 2008 Software in hand. So I MUST do an upgrade over the top of the existing server I guess. Would you suggest I do this and then move it to the other hardware as a backup and restore type of operation? I'm seeing that this is going to be fun ;)

comment How to map network shares at login on server 2003
The problem turned out to be that the share was on a server that wasn't cooperating with the AD server in some way. I really don't know enough to explain what was going on. Needless to say, restarting said server fixed the problem.

I'm adding my own explanation to the problem as a comment, but I feel this answer offers the most pertinent information for this problem.
