comment find command + enable Exit status to be diff then 0 when not match
Okay, you just don't like my style. For my use cases, any errors that find might report are either noise or so serious that they'll show up elsewhere. In any case, this method correctly answers the ultimate question: "Is there an accessible file in the path by the given name." An error will return a correct answer of "No". If I want to find out why not, I can add more complex code that answers questions not originally posed here.

Perhaps the other person who downvoted (presumably for the same reason) can provide a contrary example?

I'm not sure what your example might be, but I accidentally omitted -print -quit, which might address your concern.

I don't believe that's true. Please describe your example. If there is an error and find exits, then the string will be empty and test will return non-zero.

comment Windows 7: Route single IP over different interface (wlan)
+1 Poi is correct. Windows 7 routing is capricious. A lot of people don't understand Windows networks, and many of those people work at Microsoft and many more who don't understand Windows networking post condescending replies here. Windows 7 will often ignore the specified interface when a route is added and when it does record the specified interface, it ignores it internally. Windows 7 certainly does not choose the most specific route entry, although it well should.

The previous comment by @ChrisS is false. Windows 7 does not use the most specific route. See my upvote comment in my response to a downvote comment below.

comment MySQL: Bind to more than one IP address?
Note, however, than you can publish and serve both a local unix socket and a network socket by specifying both the socket and bind-address options.

comment “ssh root@server” hangs forever
ConnectTimeout doesn't work, generally, after the connection has been established. When I do that in one case, for example, it waits for the authentication to complete, which can be an indefinite period of time.

comment Ubuntu Upstart script hangs on start and stop
Choices are "exec" or "script / end script". The example uses the latter.
