comment Port mirroring on CISCO 2960S
fa0/18 (fast ethernet, plus no stack ID for the switch) tells me you are using an unstacked Catalyst2960SF or 2960 w/o stacking capability. In that case, you won't get data from both switches. See here for why I think that: cisco.com/c/en/us/products/switches/… and here for my interpretation of the interface ID: cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst2960/software/…

comment Port mirroring on CISCO 2960S
vlan 1 is usually special (the default vlan, often untagged); Is there a reason you are specifying that VLAN instead of a specific port to monitor? Also, it isn't clear to me whether you have a total of two switches (stacked together presumably), or three (one as core, one stack of two as managed) or that all of the switches are Cat2960S.

comment Under what circumstances could multiple VMs and mounted drives have corruption at the same time?
If the drives are virtual, possibly on a SAN or local RAID array, can you do a read-only integrity scan of the RAID array or SAN? It sounds like maybe the RAID controller picked a silently failed disk to read from at the wrong time.

comment Is it possible two have two static routes that are each going to a different remote site from the host site and have back up routes too?
A network diagram with routers, hosts, and broadcast-domain clouds would be useful, I think.

comment Cannot reach internal network on VPN
First, reproduce the connection you are attempting in the packet tracer. If that doesn't show you anything, turn on logging, and turn it all the way up, see if you can find the IP address of your VPN client in it (make sure you turn on / up logging for all firewall rules also)

comment Change the Hard Drive in RAID using tw_cli while lustre file system is mounted
In theory, the removal isn't a question, nor the replacement. You're looking for the documentation on how to add a disk to a degraded array. From cyberciti.biz/files/tw_cli.8.html , /cx set autorebuild looks good, or /cx/ux start rebuild.

comment Move raid10 from LSI 9750-8i to 3ware 9650SE-8LPML
Are you essentially asking if the hardware is sufficiently compatible that you can use the 9650 on an array built on the 9750? If so, I have to wonder at your valuation of your data as valuable enough to protect with RAID10, but worth less than a backup 9750 adapter card.

comment Brocade mirror ports
By setup, you mean hardware, or software? Also, when you say 'use', what information are you expecting to get from the mirror port? Statistics, specific storage content, auditing, deep packet sniffing for exploits?

httpd.apache.org/docs/trunk/mod/mod_syslog.html and oreillynet.com/pub/a/sysadmin/2006/10/12/httpd-syslog.html might help.

comment When does sychronizing files between servers get too much to handle?
Why are you synchronizing the files amongst 10 servers? Are they load balanced, or are they backups or ....?

I'm not aware of a UDP based FTP. What (above layer 3) protocol were you referring to by "UDP"?
