comment Windows 7 Enterprise Edition Failing to Get DHCP address
Yes, they are getting a 169 address. I need to make an edit and declare that these are separate, physically discrete networks Need to check the logs to see the exact error, but there was one. A drivers update fixed it on one machine, need to test on the others.

comment Is it possible create a 4TB bootable partition in the x86 edition of Windows Server 2003 Enterprise?
I would also prefer the option of having a separate physical volume for the OS and data storage. If you have a complete failure of the OS you could retrieve the physical disks used for the storage and rehost them in another machine.

comment localhost works 127.0.0.1 does not IIS
In this case it is not likely to be a named virtual hosting problem. He has selected the "All Unassigned" option in IIS, and is accessing it via IP address also, this should present the default site, and in the case of Apache, the first listed VirtualHost.

comment SQL Server database on an external hard disk drive
I'm sorry SpaceManSpiff but that is such a bad idea for a variety of reasons. This whole thread is a recipe for disaster.

comment Adding a 3rd node to an existing 2 node Windows 2003 cluster with Dissimilar Hardware
Jim is correct, as long as the cluster passes the cluster validation wizard it is supported by Microsoft. I have carried this out on very disparate hardware (Dell R900 and 1950 in a cluster == Supported)

comment Nagios Statistics for Notifications/Alerts
The only reason I know is that I had to use the reporting tool to calculate uptimes for SLA compliance so I became reasonably familiar with the reporting section. +1 for you though for getting the command line grep!

comment PNP4Nagios, nagiosgraph, separate Cacti, or something else for Nagios trending
Definitely, I recommend grabbing the 0.6x version. BE AWARE The installation process and therefore the documentation is different. Found 0.6x to be much easier to configure than 0.4

comment Help choosing a PERC RAID card for a MD3000
please note that this should be a SAS 5/e card and not a PERC Raid controller card. This is critical!

comment Secure user setup in Sql Server 2000
Excellent, I was looking for a way to do this in SQL2000 as in 2005 the GRANT EXECUTE ON ... is a really nice feature to have!
