How do I rotate old log files to long-term backup? So ... you want to merge the loglines of the last 30 days into a single file called October_2012 (or similar name) ? Do you want to place them under a dir called october_2012/ ? What I understood is that you want to move files older than 30 days to another filesystem. (of course the above was just a sample, which you can modify based on your needs) |

How to hide/masquerade password in script Maybe it uses some linux-specific system calls. But in any case you got the idea. It should not be very difficult to create your own version. |

Too many Bind query (cache) denied, DNS attack? logs were there before bind's crash or after ? If they were before .... it could be a DOS. if they were after ... maybe it's cache renew. Also, did you have change anything before the crash before renewing(thawing) bind ? I cannot explain why suddenly it decided to deny the queries |
