comment Windows 10 RDP Connection doesn't show credentials dialog
Unfortunately I can confirm that this isn't the case -- also happens to me on RDP at the same time I'm connected from another machine, no shutdown / reboot is in progress. Still a good lead though, thanks!

comment Windows 10 RDP Connection doesn't show credentials dialog
Hi! First off, thanks for making me aware of this area -- don't know how I hadn't seen that before Secondly, I looked and I don't appear to have any cached windows credentials, and none of the credentials listed otherwise involved RDP or the server as far as I could tell. Note: this also happens when a login fails, e.g. using another app for RDP if I enter the wrong credentials. (I'll update the question to include that)

comment On a VM, do logical vs physical disks still matter?
Thanks for responding! I'm interested in the language to explain it. The issue is my brother's host is telling him they won't put it on separate disks because it "makes no difference in a VM". So I guess I'm wondering, would using separate VMDKs always guarantee some better performance, or no?

comment What is wrong with my logstash configuration?
@GregL these are great tips, thank you! I'll try them ASAP. Unfortunately moving the log file / copying them isn't really possible here -- this didn't strike me as non-ideal so I'll dig into logstash more to find out why it's not s good practice.

@GregL and I did -- for the first type (ETL). Nothing came through for the second type, despite them going to the same index.

@GregL the LogStash console output just says "Logstash startup completed." An update: the first set of files (the ETL logs) completed, but the second set (the processor logs) do not appear to have been completed. I don't see any additional logs in the logstash directory. The ES log mentions updating mappings for type ETL, but nothing for processor..
