comment Placing WAN Subnet on a VLAN?
Well.. you won't have much visibility into what those hosts are doing potentially, but I don't see anything wrong with it as long as that is acceptable.

All of this is in the microsoft documentation. DAGs are most certainly best practice.

If it was an ACL issue, that should have done it.... does 7.0 have the command "icmp permit any outside" ?

comment ASA 5510 - Routing between Interface
The packets are ingressing on the "inside" interface, therefore that access list has no bearing since it is set as an "input" filter on the outside interface. You could try make another access list and setting that on the inside and see what happens.

comment How do I keep Centos at version 6.3?
If you want to keep the packages you use at a particular version, you'll need to build a stack that has localized or contained builds of those packages. That way the stack always uses its own version of say... Java or some other library, and doesn't rely on what the system has. However... this is hard to maintain, and updates to things like the kernel or drivers may break it.

comment Is it possible to trust a certificate in windows, without trusting its root CA?
Right... but the CA signed that cert, and without that CA cert the other end can just keep changing their certificate.
