comment Make your application DHCP recognizable like SQL SERVER INSTANCES C#
I agree, you should do this with DNS, but you can also create custom DHCP codes, so, it might be possible.

A PS6010XV should give you plenty of options... RAID50 is a good compromise.

comment Which ports does WMI Service in Active Directory use exactly?
So there is a port for RPC "signaling" I don't remember the right term for it and then a range of ports used for communication. You can however force these with a simple regedit. I had to do this on my domain controllers so that a device on the other side of a firewall could reach them on a specific set of ports. Tom

comment Raid backup replacement for IBM x3250 M2 (4194 K1G)
Agreed RAID is not a backup. You need either a rotating copy, or a synchronized duplicate for protection on some other medium.

comment 147GB vs. 146GB HP Drives
I advised them to just go bigger! I don't know why I didn't think of that earlier I was so hung up on the 146 vs 147 gb issue. A 300GB drive should smartsize down right?

Thanks for you help! I kind of figured this would be the case. What sucks is they are LARGER so disk imaging might be a bit of an issue.

In that case, the equivalent to a standalone NetWare server is something like a Microsoft Small Business Server. This technology is old, really old. The nails are finally being put into Novell's coffin. I'd look at migrating off of it.
