@Chris S Yea, that's one of my favorites. Script Kiddies usually don't know how to deal with timeouts...

comment Help creating a 'youtube' type site
1) it's a pretty saturated market. Vimeo is the only such site that I can think of besides YouTube. 2) you're not fruit to do something new or original; you described your own site as being a 'YouTube clone'. That would be fine if you wanted to build something like this either out of curiosity (to see if you could) or just for your personal use, but 3) you want to monetize. I'm fairly certain that the YouTube founders weren't able to turn a profit, and it's a loss leader for Google. You haven't described what would differentiate your site from those existing successful predecessors.

There is so much about this that is a bad idea. The single most important thing that you're missing is a time machine to roll back to about 5-10 years ago.

run nmap against it to see what ports it is listening on. That may help give you a clue what is working...

If you can RDP into it, do that. Also, if you open an MMC under an account that has rights to that server, do so and open services and event viewer (or computer management to do it all at once) to check out the services and logs.

comment Recommended PDF Reader for Windows Terminal Server Environment
+1 to Bart for quirks mode. Adobe is encouraging more lock-in to their products (I hate it but can't criticize...) and making PDFs more likely to not work in alternative products. With that said, I think it's valuable to keep it around in a limited capacity, but roll out something more streamlined for general use. (Read: install but not the default.)
