comment File replication on linux?
@karmawhore, If you want someone to see and acknowledge your reply, you should do so as a comment on their post (like this). If you're going to build on what they say, then mention that, referencing the original.

What exactly are you trying to model? I'm not certain I understand what you're trying to do with the "Actors".

Put in a support case with them and request it. Just state that you'd like a disk iso for use with CDs or iLO

comment bootable CD to upgrade firmware
According to the Installation Instructions, that is true. (It's a Self-Extracting executable.) Just about every Proliant I've seen (Mostly 380's and 580s, some 360's and 760's, all from G1-G6) has had a redundant ROM. I assume the ones that update from the OS update the one that's not in use currently and switch to it on reboot...

comment Which is the best RAID between RAID 10 and 0+1?
In any case, the user didn't post his criteria for "best". Also, we know nothing about his server, environment, load-balancing/clustering capabilities, or application.

comment Which is the best RAID between RAID 10 and 0+1?
I've never benchmarked them to compare, and I've personally never had complaints about any performance hit. For me and my environments, the safety net that comes from not worrying when the next shoe will drop is worth it. (Even though I have good backups.) Classic case of 'Speed vs. Robustness.'

comment Should I RAID my SSDs?
I may be wrong, but I thought that SSDs were essential Flash/Thumb drives in a hard drive form-factor. If that is indeed the case, Flash memory has a limited number of writes available to each sector. Aside from general electronics failure, this is the true death of SSDs. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solid-state_drive (under Disadvantages)
