I'm a programmer and a geek - what more do you really need to know? Not surprisingly for someone who works with a small company, I'm also the de-facto IT person ("your company's computer guy"). While not as much fun as programming, I do enjoy it - and it does mean I get to celebrate "System Administrator Appreciation Day!"

That is a very good "CEO level" explanation - I like it!

comment Email Archiving in an Exchange Environment
This is a good question for smaller environments as well, since the archiving of email for legal purposes affects lots of small business too. (I wish I had something more substantial to add; all I can do is up-vote this question!)

comment Vista / Windows Server 2003 Mapped Drive Logon Failure
The entry from the security event log is part of the question; I have tried changing the user's password and trying that with no luck; I haven't tried with a different user name - I assume that a different user will work fine, since this problem is affecting just one user!

Actually, no. The server is about 13 minutes ahead of the client. Odd, I thought Windows Server 2003 knew how to get the time from the Internet, like XP & Vista do...

Now THAT is a good argument to upgrade. You've convinced me - thanks!

comment Most wanted feature for Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) 4.0
I agree... the number of programs crying for updates on user desktops is such a drain (not to mention annoying).

Is that the only benefit though? That it has a nicer management console?
