Is anybody familiar with SuperMicro products? Those 813M SuperChasis are what they're talking about I'm almost certain. I guess they're simply wrong about them being linkable. So you haven't had any performance issues? Good to hear, I appreciate you taking the time to respond. |

When connected to Windows VPN (RRAS) I'm able to ping by FQDN but not Hostname Windows XP Pro SP3 is the one that I'm currently troubleshooting with. My Windows 7 laptop isn't having the issue but I think that is because my laptop is already joined to the domain so it already appends the DNS suffixes, but it could be a different reason. |

When connected to Windows VPN and I do an nslookup it shows the DNS server's IP but name is unknown Well I'm experiencing an issue where VPN clients aren't able to access machines by hostname so I thought maybe it had something to do with this. I can't seem to figure out how to get RRAS to give VPN clients the DNS suffix and WINS settings. |

When I connect to our Windows VPN, my Outlook client loses it's connection I'm not sure that this fully solves my problem (or at least not the way I want it to be solved) but you've been way too helpful to not award you the checkmark. You've helped me out a few times in the past (perhaps under different names)...just wanted to say thanks for sharing your information so freely. |

When connected to Windows VPN and I do an nslookup it shows the DNS server's IP but name is unknown I realize I could do that on the client side, but isn't there a way to have that automatically configured when a VPN client connects? |

When connected to Windows VPN (RRAS) I'm able to ping by FQDN but not Hostname nslookup says the default server name is unknown but it shows the proper IP for the default DNS server. Why would that happen? |

When I connect to our Windows VPN, my Outlook client loses it's connection No, I'm not able to resolve the FQDN of the Exchange server. What do I need to change on either DNS or RRAS so that the VPN clients will be able to connect while connected to ths VPN? I believe this is also causing other DNS issues that I haven't been able to resolve. |

How do I prevent one IP from creating a DNS entry on a multi-homed server? This is a great answer and I appreciate it, however the answer below is the answer I was looking for. |
