comment Cannot resolve by hostname only in other local namespace
This makes sense to me. Thank you for the explanation.

I found that if I filled in the Append these DNS suffixes box it will resolve the IP address of the hostname. But then I'd have to set that for all of my clients. Isn't there a way to have this work on the server?

Yeah, I left out the question. My question is, "What, specifically, should I be looking at to resolve this?" Or could it be lots of things?

comment How can I deploy the Microsoft System Center Advisor agent to multiple Windows 2008 R2 servers?
My understanding is that Intune cannot be used for servers. It's not something my company is not allowing, just that it doesn't work for servers. Or is this information incorrect?

Isn't there some kind of Microsoft enterprise-scale tool/product for doing things like this? What does someone with 300 servers do?

comment I thought one had to be in the domain administrator group to create a Standard TCP/IP port when adding a printer
The two solutions to prevent local printing I've come across include your separate VLAN and "white-listing" the print server on each network printer. I was counting on non-administrators not having the ability to create a standard TCP/IP port. I thought this was the way it used to work.
