you may as well use ln to create a hardlink instead of copy. It is possible only when your hardlink location is on the same FS as original file. No data will be physically moved/copied, it's just another name for same file.

comment Nginx bad gateway (502) error on django 500 errors (instead of showing django 500 page) with DEBUG = False setting
Ok, if you want an error page shown by django - Nginx has nothing to do with that.

comment How do I tell Nginx to wait a number of seconds before serving an asset?
Don't you think it would be even more messy with Nginx?

comment re-use after logical failure
logical failure should have it's cause.. If it's caused by software error/unexpected reboot - you can use the hard drive without any question. But it also might be caused by physics failure (mechanics, electronics, badblocks). You should test the hard drive to see if it's usable.

Sorry, that wasn't me. Neither I admit that I'm wrong. It's one of the cases when 'you can' doesn't mean 'you should'

comment Avoiding Nagios commands.cfg
looks pretty insecure. So anyone with local access can run any command with nagios privilege, tell me you are not running nagios as root.
