Deleting certain files sits at “preparing to recycle” on Windows 7? Thanks for the LockHunter link, that helped us identify that it wasn't the scanning software causing the problem, but rather another software that we were uploading the scanned files to. |

Deleting certain files sits at “preparing to recycle” on Windows 7? @ChrisS I will try and get that done later on, however the entire machine is new, HDD included, so I would be surprised if that was the cause of the problem |

Deleting certain files sits at “preparing to recycle” on Windows 7? @Dan There currently is no anti-virus software installed (that's on my TODO list later today). Why do you think the scanner could be causing the problem? |

Can I make windows treat Shortcuts to Folders the same it would a Folder? We have older systems. The network share is on Windows Server 2003 and most of our users are on XP |

Can I make windows treat Shortcuts to Folders the same it would a Folder? @netvope Would you be able to provide an example of how I could accomplish? The directories I want to move are actually on a shared network drive belonging to a Windows 2003 machine |

Can I make windows treat Shortcuts to Folders the same it would a Folder? @joeqwerty Because it is a shortcut to a Folder. Basically I want to move a bunch of folders to an external drive, and replace that folder with a shortcut of some kind that acts the same way the folder did, so users don't wonder where all their files went. |

Methods for allowing administrators to set desktop software's per user configuration My personal opinion is to use a Group Policy. They're not that bad to setup once you get used to them. |

RDP to Windows Server 2008 Terminal Server randomly gives a blank screen at login? Thank you so much, I never would have guessed this. That appears to be the case because I have not been able to get a blue screen since adding that. I recall occasionally getting prompted to hit y/n to close a mapped connection when logging in, so it must be that the login script runs prior to the shell, and stops the shell from loading until the prompt disappears. |

RDP to Windows Server 2008 Terminal Server randomly gives a blank screen at login? We do have a login script which maps some network drives. I disabled it and haven't been able to get the blue screen again, so I think you're right. All it does is net use G: /del; net use g: \\server\fileshare. Do you know if there's a way to add a timeout to login scripts? Or if there's a better way to map the network drive? |
