comment Redirecting http://www.server.com:portX to http://subdomain.server.com
Hmm @lunixbochs - there are some additional factors. The URL being accessed is like: server.com:2104/sessionadapter.por?id=723491 . This should be redirected to: alpha.server.com:80/sessionadapter.por?id=723491

@lunixbochs - so I just add another line just before the VirtualHost as you specified and it should work fine...?

comment Understanding reference to /var/log/wtmp in /etc/logrotate.conf
@lain - sorry to bother you, i've just updated the main question with the full file contents. I'm having difficulty understanding what the rotate 52 in the beginning does as opposed to the one in /var/log/wtmp { }

if the /var/www/html/mantis folder is renamed to something else, the redirection stops at the correct place: mantis.EXAMPLE.com/view.php?id=17575 (but obviously, the page doesnt load)

There are other VirtualHost entries, but they are not conflicting with this

it seems like that's whats happening but there isnt a wildcard next to VirtualHost anywhere .
