@thatguyfromoverthere: I don't think that error is in my program which consumes the API or in the database REST API since the problem is only present when nginx is proxying requests. Regarding the link - it doesn't seem to be related since I'm not dealing with 304 status and it happens at random requests. There is no exact case which would trigger the exception.

Actually I was looking in the wrong folder for HTTPERR and now I can see the errors :).

Thanks you for clarification. I have now an issue with my web application that accepts every request EXCEPT one specific path and I can't see requests to that path in any logs, not even in HTTPERR which led me to question if there can be a situation where response processing went wrong and therefore requests won't show up in logs.
