comment Apache rewrite rule infinite loop for subpage
thanks that worked. It didn't load any assets though. SO I modified it like this: 'RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/dayone(.*)$'

comment reading stdin in shell
@MadHatter I had written that "What I eventually require is to read from the stdin written to by the postfix pipe" which would explain that the data will span multiple lines, but I guess it wasn't enough and I'll take care next time :) Anyway initializing as bin/bash instead of bin/sh solved it thanks

Thank you very much. The readjustment based on current TTL was a nice tip too :)

You sir, saved my day. 'Just because today is a lazy day' do you mind explaining what you did ? and how did the parenthesis help?

It didn't fail. It just doesn't write to the file, It writes to output after the command is executed. I want the times to be recorded to a log file

comment Strange rsync behaviour
hey, I found out a way :)) Rsync has a -c (checksum) option. so, rsync -cav , calculates the file checksum and tells me exacly what files are different (while ignoring the similar files)

comment Strange rsync behaviour
I ran more tests and it seems that rsync looks at the last modified time of the file, instead of only file contents. Is there a utility that allows me to list files based on the differences in them and not just update time ?
