comment Run Oracle SQL script and exit from sqlplus.exe via command prompt
The slash means to execute what is in the SQL buffer. It doesn't execute multiple statements, and it isn't necessary to execute SQLPlus control commands like "quit". If you type "quit"<Enter> at an interactive SQLPlus prompt, it will exit immediately.

comment How do I fix an “invalid” SMTP server issue?
You're right, but I think in this case they don't want public records for ntintwebp.ABABA.net (there isn't a public forward record for it). I think they want to figure out how to remove that address from consideration.

comment Run Oracle SQL script and exit from sqlplus.exe via command prompt
The sqlplus command runs the script then tries to read more commands from standard input. With this pipeline, the read from standard input will read the string "exit" from the echo command, causing sqlplus to exit.
